A Stranger's Prayer

You tell me that you see me

But I don’t know that you’re there

You say you always hear me

All my big unanswered prayers

I’m starving for your hunger

To come and give some love

I need to feel some shelter

From the storm you don’t feel above

They say that you will care for

All those that are left behind

Your kind and caring muteness

Is the type I’ll never find

But you have so much to give me

The wealth that I don’t know

The means to solve my hurting

The kind you have yet to show

So from way across the ocean

I send my prayer to you

Please do the things you pray for

And to your heart be true.

A Lover's Tale

To find a sweeter song to sing

Then loves pure grasp in which I am caught

Would stand too far for eye to see

Beyond the stars which wise men taught

The flowers of all beauties field

If picked and set in just one room

Could not fulfill one ounce in sight

Of what I see in your heavenly bloom

To hear the song the sparrow sings

Is but a dross and wilted sound

For from your lips in moments said

An angelic chorus I have found

Each time I leave your sight and touch

Is like the death that cannot end

I hold in mind your lips and smell

And await the touch of my best friend

For I would crawl to Saturn’s rings

And further to only hear you say

Those three little words from your lips divine

From eternity on, each and every day

The Valley of the Sad Song

In the valley of the sad song

there’s a little bird that sings

And if you sit by her, but not long

she will tell you many things.

She has talked to many people,

who have come to her with tears,

And they tell her of the sadness

they have felt throughout the years.

She sings of the very first story

that started so happy and bright

Of a love that would go on forever,

it was eternal in both of their sight.

This first man that sat in the valley

before the sad song filled the trees

Came to this place from a memory

and crying fell down to his knees

He saw no one there but the young bird,

with feathers that looked like the sun

So he told her of all he had lost now,

because of the love he had barely begun

They had newly just started their family;

a little child had bounced on his knee.

But no bouncing and laughing was had now,

no, laughing, there just couldn’t be.

And as he sat in the valley of sad songs,

for that’s now how the valley was known

The bird cried a tear for the sad man,

and gave him a feather that shone.

And as the man picked up the feather,

he felt a slight warmth touch his heart

He wasn’t all healed or unsad now,

but inside, well, he felt he could start

To look at the world as half full, just,

and he thought “I might not be done”

So he thanked the good bird for her kindness,

with the feather he walked into the sun

And though now the bird felt slightly colder

she was pleased for what she had done.

So on and on and on goes the story

of each person who came with their tears

The little boy who missed his doggy,

or the woman who had many fears

And to each of them went just one feather

unsuspecting of what they received

As they walked from the valley of sad song

they felt like they could at least breathe.

So I sit here right now with the old bird,

oh her sad song to most is not grand

But she listens as I weep through my cold eyes

and buckle as I try to stand

She looks down at me and she shivers,

for one feather she only has now

But she pulls it from off of her bare skin

and passes it to me somehow

And as the sun touches my cold hand

I look to the bird and she cries

For new feathers cover her over,

But much brighter then ten million skies

For in taking pain she got coldness

So that we could just live again

She added a small part to her sad song

But gave of her love without end

And now she had infinite feathers

As she gives they will always grow back

And though now the sad song keeps growing

New feathers she never will lack

So down in the valley of the sad song

There is a little bird and she sings

And if you sit down by her, but not long

She will tell you of the love that she brings

The Wealth I Have

The love I feel for you is like a ocean with no bottom found
It's like a sound
The kind that only Angels sing

Your smile brings me warmth just like the morning sun
The day is done
Your sight like breath, complete!

The triple smiles that spring forth, the miracles you bore
I am not poor
The wealth I have forever!

If hope you know that I can't live without your touch
I thirst so much
Your flow of love is given.

The Game of Life

Each day I wake, I have a plan to breath again

And even when the time is tough

I try to win

For living is a game I truly like to play

Though often times the other team

Will have more sway

I cheat at life and many times do not play fair

But life is cruel and many times

It just won’t share

So I take all of the chances I can get

I remind myself each morning

“You just can’t quit!”

The Color

Angles of her drip in chance.

In times when love became romance.

Like sparks of flame which do entrance.

The color keeps her living.

A painted scene is given life

Beyond the toil and the strife.

As smooth as silks, cuts like a knife.

The color keeps him giving.

They fight and dance with wanton heart.

Why should they stay, but can they part?

Their fate was made before the start.

The colors keep them living.

Without the color they don’t flow.

They’re tied together this they know.

Their love and hate they purely show

Until the color just stops giving.

Her Flight

From night deep set

She rises high

And takes her flight with ease

When with the birds

She flies alight

Goes shifting through the breeze

Her terror and her

Beauty awe

For those that see and hear

With foaming mouth

And bright blue eyes

Her beauty we do fear

Her love seeks hard

To find her face

To dive right in and feel

The love she gives

With chilling arms

Is given, Oh so real

When some get lost

Deep in her grasp

Her blood seeps to their core

And dreaming comes

To lovers such

And stays forever more

“Please don’t seek me!

Please don’t love me!

Give up

On desire!

Stop your loving

Kills me quickly!

Quench your thirst

With fire!”

We never listen

To her songs

But find her loving arms

Then those whose love

She truly has

Is who she truly harms

From night deep set

She rises high

And takes her flight with ease

When with the birds

She flies alight

Goes shifting through the breeze
